Ziggo to update set-top software

Netherlands-based cable operator Ziggo will today carry out a software update to some of its set-top boxes in order to improve the navigation speed, the stability of HDMI, and the speed at which programmes can be rewound.

The update will also improve the quality of encryption for VOD content, something that Ziggo said was a requirement of Hollywood studios in  order to offer the latest blockbusters.

The update applies to Cisco and Samsung set-tops.
