Kudelski-owned conditional-access module supplier SmarDTV has teamed up with interactive TV technology specialist Mirada to port Nagravisions Nagra guide onto a SmarDTV CI Plus module.
Mirada has developed an application, stored on the CAM, that can take control of an integrated digital TV, allowing the operator to brand the service as on a set-top box. The application can enable added EPG functionality including contextual recommendations, searches and purchasing options. The CAM with branded EPG has been tested on TV models including makes from Sony, Samsung and Philips.
