Italian media company Mediaset will launch a video-on-demand component to its DTT-delivered Mediaset Premium pay-TV offering, starting November 20.
It is launching a 160GB DVR and a 50-movie VOD offer. The first-run movies will be refreshed daily. The new set top will retail at 139.
Mediaset said it expects to have 4.5 million Premium customers by end-2010, a 12% increase on the four million expected at end-2009. Company vice-chairman Piersilvio Berlusconi said that he is targeting breakeven for the pay-TV services next year.
