Telekom Austria revenues slip

Telekom Austria blamed “weaker economies in foreign markets and negative currency effects” for third quarter revenues of €1.2bn, down 7.3% year-on-year. EBITDA was also down 9% to €489.8m.

The decline was influenced by the telco’s fixed net unit, which contributed revenues €470m, down from €496.9m a year earlier. However, the loss of fixed net access lines declined for the seventh consecutive quarter, which Telekom Austria said was due to stronger customer retention and strong uptake of product bundles.
