Telefónica has agreed to acquire German ISP Hansenet for Â900m from Telecom Italia.
The Spanish telco said that once the deal was complete, its German arm, Telefónica O2 Germany, will become the countryÂs third biggest DSL provider in terms of revenue. The combined company will deliver annual revenue of almost Â5bn, Telefónica said.
Once the deal is finalised, likely during the first quarter of 2010, Telefonica O2 Germany will add HansenetÂs DSL customer base, which currently stands at around 2.2 million, to its 15 million mobile customers.
