Thomson gets EuroDOCSIS 3.0 certification for cable gateway

Thomson has announced that it has achieved full Cable Europe Labs certification for EuroDOCSIS 3.0 and EuroPacketCable 1.5 for its new TWG870 wireless and VoIP cable gateway.

Thomson said the new gateway is designed to act as the hub of a home network. The EuroDOCSIS 3.0 specification allows for the bonding of up to eight channels for data, offering internet access speeds of up to 300Mbps to the home. It has four gigabit Ethernet ports for a wired network, and 802.11n high-speed wireless capabilities. The gateway also supports voice telephony including multiple lines, user services such as caller ID and call waiting.
