Digital Rapids integrates YouTube fingerprinting

Technology provider Digital Rapids is working with video sharing website YouTube to integrate support for Content ID, YouTube’s content identification and management system, into Digital Rapids’ media production and video re-purposing systems.

The integration allows users to generate Content ID fingerprints from the content during the encoding or transcoding process, which are then uploaded to YouTube’s Content ID system.  User-uploaded videos are checked against the reference file, identifying ownership of the content and allowing content owners to block or permit the content to be made available on the site in accordance with their policies.
