Viasat launches on Estonian IPTV

Modern Times Group-owned broadcaster Viasat will market and sell its pay-TV channel packages to Estonian IPTV operator Elion.

The four-year deal, starting in October, will also see Viasat’s free-to-air channels TV3, TV6 and 3 Plus being made available to Elion’s 88,000 DigiTV customers.

Viasat will market its pay-TV packages direct to Elion’s customers, with prices ranging from EEK99 (€6.33) to EEK305 per month. The premium offering will include the Viasat Gold package of 12 Viasat channels and 25 third party channels.

Separately, shareholders in Elion’s parent company Eesti Telekom have accepted Nordic telco TeliaSonera’s cash offer that will boost its share in the company to at least 90.29%. TeliaSonera is offering EEK93.00 for each share.
