GlobeCast completes terrestrial network

Paris-based transmission services provider GlobeCast has completed the deployment of a new terrestrial video network for French broadcaster TF1 and news channel LCI.

GlobeCast built a network for the channels based on Ethernet MAN technology, allowing TF1 to establish point-to-point switched links with all 13 of its regional bureaux throughout the country. TF1 will also use GlobeCast subsidiary Netia’s Nodal Master software to remotely pilot four simultaneous incoming feeds from its headquarters with a switching grid, the company said.
