TVN leads Polish ad market

Polish broadcaster TVN recorded the highest ad sales in the country during the first three months of the year.

TVN’s sales were up 2% to PLN1.83bn (€438m) during the first nine months of the year as advertisers moved spending away from print media to TV and the internet, according to data compiled by Polish research agency TNS OBOP. Rival Polsat came second with ad sales of PLN1.75bn, down 8.4%.

The leading thematic channel was Viacom International’s music channel Viva Poland, which recorded sales of PLN274m, up 138.5%.  It was followed by AXN (PLN224m), MTV Poland (PLN152m) and Discovery (PLN111m).
