Com Hem strikes new deal with TV4

Swedish cable operator Com Hem has struck a deal with local commercial broadcaster TV4 over carriage of the latter’s thematic channels on Com Hem’s network.

As a result of the deal, TV4 Science Fiction will launch on Com Hem on October 28. Factual channel TV4 Fakta will meanwhile be moved to Com Hem’s Mediumpaket, extending the reach of the channel.

The deal will mean that Com Hem will be the only Swedish cable operator to offer all of TV4’s channels. The broadcaster provides TV4 Plus, TV400, TV4 Film, TV4 Fakta, TV4 Komedi, TV4 Sport, TV4 Guld, TV4 HD and TV4 Science Fiction in addition to the main channel.

Com Hem also offers TV4 Play, the broadcaster’s video-on-demand service. Com Hem’s on-demand service is available to about 175,000 homes in southern Sweden, with plans to extend this to 500,000 by the end of the year.
