BBC Worldwide strikes eastern Europe deals

BBC Worldwide has announced a series of content licensing deals in central and eastern Europe at the MIPCOM programming market in Cannes.

Deals announced include the first sale of HD content to Russia with cable and satellite channel First HDTV buying 55 hours of content including Cranford and Gavin & Stacey.

BBC Worldwide has also struck significant content deals with Channel One Worldwide Telecafe and Russian MTV, TVP 2 in Poland, Romania’s TVR 1 and 2, ETV Estonia, B92 Serbia, HRT Croatia and Hallmark Channel.
