Thomson supplying UPC with green boxes

France’s Thomson has announced that it is supplying new energy-efficient set-tops to UPC Broadband.

Thomson is supplying its DC1602 boxes, which revert to a ‘deep sleep’ mode consuming less than 1W of electricity when not being used.

Thomson’s announcement follows an earlier announcement by UK supplier Pace that it was supplying energy-efficient set-tops to UPC.
