NTV-Plus launches hockey channel

Russian pay-TV provider NTV-Plus has begun broadcasting a new channel devoted to ice hockey.

The channel, CHL-TV (Continental Hockey League TV) will cover games in the CHL, a new league created for Russia and various other countries in Europe and Asia. The second CHL championship will be contested by 24 clubs from Russia, Belarus, Latvia and Kazakhstan. The channel, broadcast in MPEG-4, will be available via Eutelsat W4 to subscribers of NTV-Plus’s sports packages.
