Comcast denies NBC acquisition reports

US cable company Comcast has denied reports that it is in talks to acquire Hollywood studio NBC Universal.

Comcast was reportedly in talks to acquire the company as it looked to get into the content business but subsequently denied the move.

French conglomerate Vivendi triggered sales rumours earlier this month when reports emerged that it was considering selling off its 20% stake in the company, an opportunity that comes around in November. However, Comcast has also reportedly been in talks with General Electric, which owns the controlling stake in the studio.
