Canal Plus to use Silverlight for Foot Plus on the web

Canal Plus Group has adopted Microsoft’s Silverlight technology and PlayReady DRM to enable the delivery of its Foot Plus service over the web.

The move, which will enable subscribers to view coverage of France’s Ligue 1, the Champions League and Europa League on their PCs, follows an agreement between Canal Plus and Microsoft in June covering the distribution of Foot Plus, Canal Plus on-demand and CanalPlay to the TV via Microsoft XBox games consoles.
