Set-top box vendor Pace has developed a new HD box for European cable operator UPC that is designed to reduce energy consumption.
Pace said the deployment of the set-top boxes, scheduled to start early next year, would bring environmental benefits by enabling UPC to bring HD services to subscribers efficiently and with minimum environmental impact.
The Pace box for UPC has been created under Paces low environmental initiative, which offers lower power consumption, reduced packaging and reduced use of hazardous substances in manufacture. Â
