Sundance Channel to launch on Numericable

US independent movie channel Sundance Channel is to launch on French cable operator Numericable’s platform in high-definition and standard-definition versions as well as a video-on-demand service.

The SD and HD channels will be available from September 30 as part of Numericable’s Full Ciné and TV Premium Plus options. The VOD service will be available on a subscription basis for €5.99 a month to all Numericable subscribers.

The Rainbow Media Holdings-owned channel had previously struck a deal to distribute its HD version on Free’s IPTV platform in France at the beginning of September.

Separately, Numericable earlier reported first-half revenues of €478.1m, up 0.5% year-on-year, and EBITDA of €263.6m, up 9.5%.
