Deutsche Telekom chooses Harmonic

Video equipment supplier Harmonic has announced that German telco Deutsche Telekom has selected its recently introduced DiviCom Electra 8000 encoder to expand the MPEG-4 HD video service to its T-Home Entertain IPTV.

Harmonic said the deployment would enable T-Home Entertain to offer its subscribers the largest number of HD channels in Germany. The Electra 8000 is a 1-RU encoder with multi-resolution, multi-standard, multi-service and multi-channel capabilities.
