Lagardère Active suffers first-half fall

Lagardère Active, the multimedia arm of French conglomerate Lagardère, turned in revenues of €831m for the first half, a like-for-like fall of 17.7%.

The audiovisual division’s revenues fell by 15% on a like-for-like basis. The company said its French TV and radio channels performed better than those abroad, where the fall was over 20%. Digital services represented 7.4% of Lagardère Active’s total, up from 6.4% for the comparable period in 2008.  

Operating income from Lagardère Active’s consolidated activities amounted to €9m, down from €112m for the same period in 2008.

Lagardère owns TV channels Gulli, Canal J and Virgin 17, as well as production unit Lagardère Entertainment, digital division Lagardère Digital France and ad sales arm Lagardère Publicité.
