Abertis gets green light for acquisitions

Spanish transmission services provider Abertis Telecom has been given the green light to acquire rival providers Axion and Teledifusión Madrid by the country’s competition regulator.

However, Abertis must provide wholesale transport and transmission of TV signals in Andalusia and Madrid, where the two companies operate, at a price to be fixed by telecom regulator the CMT. Abertis will also have to allow other operators to co-locate equipment at its TV broadcast facilities in Andalusia and Madrid.
