The Dutch division of the SBS/ProSiebenSat.1 Group is upgrading its content playout platform to handle and distribute high-definition TV by investing in a storage area network based on Grass Valley K2 Summit server technology. The migration project will launch on air in the fourth quarter of 2009.
SBS/ProSiebenSat.1 has ordered five Grass Valley K2 Summit HD production clients for ingest and playout, connected to the new online SAN. The equipment, now delivered, will be implemented in the Amsterdam facility in the next two months, following the completion of a renovation of the facilitys multi-channel playout area to HD.
