Prisa appeals against pay-DTT plans

Spanish media group Prisa is to appeal against the government’s decision to allow all DTT channel operators to broadcast pay-TV channels.

The Spanish government had intended to grant pay-TV licences on case-by-case basis but has since decided that all operators that broadcast nationally can operate a pay channel
Prisa, owner of pay-TV platform Digital Plus, said the move would damage its pay-TV interests.

DTT broadcasters Antena 3 TV, Veo TV and La Sexta have requested a pay-TV licence.
