Numericable to offer free DTT channels

French cable operator Numericable is to launch a free DTT service, according to local reports.

The operator plans to offer 18 DTT channels free of charge to its customers, including some high-definition versions of the channels. It is expected to invest €15m in the project over the next three years, with all customers being able to receive the HD DTT service by the end of 2011.
