Canal Plus unveils retail logo programme

French pay-TV operator Canal Plus has launched a new logo programme to identify products, including integrated digital TV sets with CI+ modules, that can receive its services.

The Canal Ready label is designed to allow consumers to identify retail products that can be used to access the pay-TV provider’s services. Canal Plus said it would seek to strike agreements with manufacturers and would award the logo to products that met the necessary criteria.

Initially the main focus of the programme will be on satellite and digital terrestrial receivers and integrated digital TV services with CI+ modules, but it will be extended in the future to other devices such as PCs, game consoles and mobile phones.
