PT chooses Envivio for mobile TV encoding

Video technology specialist Envivio has announced that Portuguese telco
Portugal Telecom has selected its Mobile Series encoding platform to
upgrade and expand its mobile TV offering Meo Mobile.
Meo Mobile has been in operation since 2006 and now includes 37 channels as well as video-on-demand content. Envivio said the channels are encoded into multi-profile streams in real time using a 4Caster M2-based encoding platform protected by a 4Manager M:N automated redundancy system. On-demand content is created using Envivio 4Coder Mobile SE offline encoders that are integrated with a content ingest and playout server.
