MTV Networks Africa hires Smit

MTV Networks Africa has appointed former M-Net executive Helen Smit as programming director, music.

She will be responsible for programming across MTV Networks Africa’s portfolio of music channels including MTV, VH1 and MTV Base. She joins from the Baynounah Media Group in Abu Dhabi, where she was deputy director of programming for its English language service. She previously worked at M-Net as commissioning editor and and general manager of its KTV/Go service.
