Unitymedia expands VOD availability

Liberty Global-owned German cable operator Unitymedia has expanded the availability of its video-on-demand service. The operator’s VOD service is now available in Hurth, in the Frankfurt area and in parts of the Ruhr, including Bochum, Duisburg and Dortmund. Unitymedia expects to activate VOD in its other regions by the middle of May.

RTL Nitro to launch on Kabel BW, Unitymedia

RTL’s new free-to-air channel RTL Nitro is launching on Unitymedia and Kabel BW’s cable networks. RTL Nitro targets males aged 20-59 and will air a mix of movies, crime drama series and comedy shows. Series to be aired on the channel include Modern Family, Nurse Jackie, Rome, 24 and the US version of The Office.
