Unitymedia to launch new HD services and set-top

Liberty Global-backed German cable operator Unitymedia will launch three HD services from ProSiebenSat.1 today, and plans to launch a new HD set-top at the beginning of December.

The cable operator will launch ProSiebenSat.1 HD services ProSieben HD, Sat.1 HD and Kabel Eins HD today. Unitymedia will offer the three new services free of charge until January 31.

The new HD receiver will be available for a monthly rental of €2 to subscribers with a minimum of one analogue subscription, including access to 75 standard definition channels and Das Erste HD, ZDF HD, Arte HD, Servus TV HD and Sport 1 HD. Unitymedia’s existing HD DVR box will continue to be available for €6 per month.
