Ultimate Pool launches streaming service

Ultimate Pool Group, the organiser of Professional English Eightball Pool events, has launched a video streaming platform.

The service streams live 8-Ball pool tournaments and gives access to an archive of previously broadcast and streamed events. The platform offers free and paid videos for login users.

Paid content is available with options to buy a ticket to a single event or a whole season pass. Tournaments are held once a month and last three days.

Ultimate Pool Group’s streaming platform is based on a solution provided by Insys Video Technologies. The company delivered a toolkit to create an OTT platform, including a live and VOD module, frontend and backend applications and payments integration.

The solution is based on the AWS cloud and includes a geoblocking featurte that enables restriction of live streams to the UK for content rights purposes.

“As the Ulitmate Pool Group, we decided to create an online space where the Professional English Eightball Pool community can keep abreast of this sport. Thanks to the OTT (Over-The-Top) platform we can reach 8-Ball Pool fans worldwide. Ultimate Pool Group platform not only gives access to Professional English Eightball Pool live tournaments but also live scores and latest results, draws, rankings, and stats from all Ultimate Pool events, player profiles, and the latest announcements and press releases from the Ultimate Pool circuit,” said Mark Quirk, Chairman at Ultimate Pool Group.

“Secure video streaming platforms, allowing content sharing and monetization, are now becoming increasingly popular. This is a great way to grow your audience and give access to video content to users from anywhere in the world at any time. The solution we propose allows the customer to easily manage his video library and leverage complex technology behind that, like DRM, adaptive bitrate encoding, or worldwide CDN (Content Delivery Network) through the use of our toolkit,” said Krzysztof Bartkowski, CEO at Insys Video Technologies.
