SFR bundles Meta Quest 3 VR headset with fixed-line box
Altice France-owned operator SFR is to bundle its gateway box with the Meta Quest 3 virtual reality headset as a fixed-line subscription offering as part of its ongoing ‘Box + High Tech’ strategy of bundling boxes with consumer electronics hardware.
SFR has timed the offer to coincide with the launch of Meta’s new VR headset in France, enabling fixed-line customers to bundle a Meta Quest 3 128 Go, priced at €549.99, with their box. The offer is aimed at SFR Fibre Premium customers with a 24-month contract. The VR headset is available for €119 plus €8 per month over the 24 months of the contract.
The offer follows similar bundles from SFR including Box + TV in 2020, Box + Console in 2021, Box = video projector and Box = PC in 2022 and Box = tablet in 2023.
The Meta Quest 3 provides users with access to mixed reality and virtual reality environments and a catalogue of 500 applications and immersive games. The device boasts Infinite Display 4K+ resolution, a Puce Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, 3D spatial audio and Touch Plus handsets.
Meta is offering the game Asgard’s Wrath 2 to those buying the headset before January 27.
“SFR, which has already offered a large list of equipment associated with its ultrafast broadband offers – TV, console, video projector, PC, tablet – is innovating once again and continuing to demonstrate its ability to accompany to the max the digital usage of its customers,” said Eric Pradeau, executive director of residential customers at SFR.
