French pay TV group, Canal+, has promoted head of digital sport, Bruno Rodrigues, to director of digital sport & digital content.

He starts his role effective immediately, reporting to Thomas Sénécal, director of sports and will also report to Jean-Marc Juramie, deputy managing director of Canal+ France, in charge of antennas and programmes.

Rodrigues’ promotion follows, the company’s recent hire of Marylise Oger who joined as director of digital France.

The French media giant said Rodrigues will lead all sports-related digital activities and will be responsible for leading Canal+’s digital content production activities in France, covering all the group’s themes in addition to sport, such as cinema, series, documentaries and comedy.

The exec has worked at the Canal+ for over six years, joining the company in 2017 as project manager of strategy and M&A. In 2019 he was appointed as chief of staff to CEO Maxime Saada, prior to becoming head of digital sport in 2022. He began his career in investment banking at Société Générale.

Canal+ also announced the appointment of Françoise Guyonnet as CEO of copyrights Group and EVP of kids’ brands.

Guyonnet currently serves as director of TV series at StudioCanal since 2017. She will take up her new role in early 2024 and will continue to report to StudioCanal CEO and Canal+ deputy CEO Anna Marsh.

Commenting on Guyonnet’s appointment, Marsh said, “Françoise has deftly contributed to the success of kids’ content throughout her career and her deep knowledge in this field, coupled with her experience in television production, will ensure that our ambitions are in very capable hands.”
