Parrot Analytics: Netflix’s ‘One Piece’ debuts on top in Italy

Netflix’s One Piece has climbed to the top of Parrot Analytics’s latest report of top ten digital originals in Italy for the week ending 27 August – 02 September.

Parrot Analytics analyses the demand for recent popular digital titles across international markets, based on the application of artificial intelligence to expressions of demand across social media, fan sites, peer-to-peer protocols and file-sharing platforms. The analyst illustrates demand expressions based on how much more popular a charted title is than an average TV show.

The live action adaptation of the anime series which debuted on Netflix last week, landed on top of the chart with a recorded score of 25.83 times the market average demand according to Parrot’s latest data report.  Netflix only made one other appearance on the chart with the fantasy series The Witcher coming in sixth place.

Disney+ was the most watched streamer in Italy during the week, with the Star Wars spin-off Ahsoka following closely behind One Piece in second place, with 25.29 times the demand of an average show. The Hulu crime-drama series Only Murders In The Building which is available on Disney+ in the region, was the third most watched show. While Boris and The Mandalorian from Disney+ arrived in sixth and seventh respectively.

Paramount+ was the least favoured streamer among viewers in Italy, only featuring twice at the bottom of the chart with Special Ops: Lioness and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Other appearances include Amazon Prime Video’s fantasy drama Good Omens (fourth) and Apple TV+ sci-fi series Foundation (fifth).
