Czech operator Poda offers premium sport for free in two month promotion

Czech operator Poda has launched a promotion that will allow viewers to access sports broadcasts on its Sport 1 and Sport 2 channels for free. The company, which currently has around 110,000 subscribers, says audiences “will not have to take any further steps. The channels will appear automatically in your programme menu”.

The promotion will unlock a wide array of premium content for Czech viewers – led by domestic and international level football (eg UEFA Europa League), Formula 1 races and European ice hockey. There is also live handball and poker coverage.

Poda said the free period will include around 60 UEFA fixtures, adding that “a big attraction for September will be the qualifying matches for EURO 2024”.

Poda also ran a month-long promotion for premium movie channel Film+ in August. Other initiatives this year include the addition of FilmBox On Demand to the platform.
