Disney+ unveils slate of new UK unscripted titles
The Walt Disney Company EMEA revealed a raft of new UK unscripted original titles for its streaming service Disney+.
Among the roster of titles are World War Show: Adidas vs. Puma (w/t) on the sporting brands shared history and rivalry, Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story starring Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves, the three-parter Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, music doc-film Camden and fashion documentary In Vogue.
Sean Doyle, director, unscripted, Disney+, EMEA, said: “We’ve spent the past year making ambitious documentaries with exclusive access to A-list names with the best creative talent in the business. It’s been great to see the reactions to Finding Michael and Save Our Squad with David Beckham and I can’t wait for audiences to see what else we’ve been up to and discover stories they may not expect to see on Disney+.”
The news was announced yesterday with first looks at the Edinburgh TV Festival which runs until August 25.
Disney+ ad-supported tier is also expected to launch in the UK by November, with its new Standard with Ads package. The ad-tier offering is priced at a monthly rate of GBP £4.99 which will offers access to Disney+ content with advertising, with up to two concurrent streams.
The Standard plan without ads also includes up two concurrent streams for GBP £7.99 per month. While the Premium plan allows up to four concurrent stream at £10.99 per month. Disney+ AVOD will also roll out to France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
