Cheered on by a large crowd of fans, the country’s national team faced, among others, the Poles in the group. The Green Falcons also caused one of the biggest sensations of that tournament, defeating the later world champions, the Argentines, in the group stage.

“Shortly after the World Cup ended, five-time UEFA Champions League triumpher and one of the world’s most famous and iconic soccer players, Cristiano Ronaldo, was linked with Al-Nassr. The move set in motion a veritable avalanche of transfers involving world soccer stars. The league’s authorities have a long-term development plan written out.

“All this is expected to bring the Roshn Saudi League into the ranks of the world’s top 5 soccer leagues.”
