BBC unveils coverage of Women’s World Cup final

The BBC will air the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 final where England goes up against Spain on Sunday August 20.

The match will broadcast live across the UK pubcaster, with coverage on BBC1 BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport Online, BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds.

Full coverage of the Women’s World Cup final begins on BBC1 and BBC iPlayer from 10am ahead of the 11am kick-off.

During the football tournament, the BBC has split free-to-air coverage of all 64 matches from the tournament with the ITV as part of a media rights partnership with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

The broadcaster revealed its latest coverage of the England’s semi-final match against Australia reached a peak TV audience of 7.3 million views on BBC1. According to the BBC, the match was the most watched match of the tournament on the channel so far.

The football game was also streamed 3.8 million times on the video-on demand platform BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport Online. While, match highlights and clips of the game were streamed 2.7 million times across the broadcaster’s digital platforms.
