SPI InternationalCanal+-owned channel provider and streamer SPI International has struck an agreement with ZAP, the digital satellite television provider in Angola, Mozambique, and Cape Verde, for the launch of Dizi, its Turkish drama channel.

The channel will showcase a wide selection of popular Turkish series and dramas, enabling ZAP subscribers to watch content from Dizi in Portuguese subtitles as part of their Mini+package.

Georgina Twiss, MD Western Europe and Africa of SPI International, said: ”We are thrilled to bring Dizi to the audiences in Angola, Mozambique, and Cape Verde and to build on our existing partnership with ZAP. This channel is a great addition to diversify our content offering through ZAP that already includes three other thematic channels FightBox, Fast&FunBox and FashionBox from the SPI/FilmBox portfolio.”

SPI previously struck a deal with ZAP two years ago for the launch of channels  FilmBox Arthouse, Gametoon, FightBox, Fast&FunBox, FashionBox, and 360 TuneBox on the satellite platform.

Dizi also extended its reach in Africa via a deal with StarTimes in April.

The latest deal for Dizi follows hard on a number of other deals involving the channel, most recently with Eazi TV in Singapore and LigaT in Portugal. SPI International has also secured distribution for Dizi and other channels with Free in France, Orange Romania and Yettel in Bulgaria.
