CBS Sports has expanded its broadcasting deal with SailGP in the US which includes 12 hours of programming on the CBS Television Network and Paramount+.

The expanded deal doubles its coverage of the sailing event from last season, and includes more than 50 hours of original programming of SailGP.

On July 22, SailGP will commence at the Oracle Los Angeles Sail Grand Prix as the 10 national teams race F50 hydrofoiling catamarans.

This season includes 12 events across four continents, concluding in San Francisco.

“We are excited to extend our partnership with CBS as we work together to deliver our world-class events to audiences in the United States,” said Ben Johnson SVP, Strategy and Commercial Development. “Evidenced by the record-breaking viewership in Season 3, the thrilling nature of our stadium-style competition is changing the perception of sailboat racing as we continue to elevate the sport into the mainstream.”

Commenting on the expanded deal Dan Weinberg, EVP, programming, CBS Sports, said: “It is an exciting brand of racing that continues to grow and attract fans from all over the world.”

The fourth edition of SailGP kicks off at 2pm EDT on the CBS Sports Network on July 22. SailGP has secured also a broadcasting deal with ITV in the UK which will deliver exclusive free live coverage of the sailing sport.
