BBC renews content deal with Emirates

UK broadcaster BBC has renewed its partnership with Emirates to deliver over 250 hours of content to the airline’s inflight entertainment system.

The renewed deal came into force in May with all BBC Studios content found in a dedicated BBC-branded area on inflight entertainment system. The BBC branded space gives passengers access to programming across drama, factual entertainment and documentaries.

Dramas such as Blackadder, Happy Valley and Diplomat are among the slate of titles.

The recently launched BBC Earth section houses BBC’s natural history productions including Frozen Planet II, Blue Planet II narrated by Sir David Attenborough, as well as, the upcoming Planet Earth III.

With the CBeebies branded space featuring presenter links, providing fun ideas and games for children and carers in-between the award-winning series and in addition to hits like Bluey, Hey Duggee and Go Jetters .

Speaking on the deal Zina Neophytou, VP Out of Home at BBC Studios said: “Emirates have been a key licensee of BBC Studios content for many years and we are very proud that our cooperation continues to grow and benefit our global audiences. This renewal gives Emirates passengers access to more hours of BBC content than ever before and the new interface features introduced from May will help them navigate easily to their favourite shows onboard.”
