Taiwan Mobile taps Broadpeak for live streaming

Taiwan Mobile has chosen CDN and streaming technology specialist Broadpeak’s BkS350 Origin Packager to improve live multiscreen video delivery across Asia.

Broadpeak’s Origin Packager solution enables Taiwan Mobile to package and protect ABR content delivered to mobile devices, saving costly encoding and storage resources, according to Broadpeak.

Taiwan Mobile, which operates the MyVideo streaming platform, has partnered with Broadpeak to deliver a live video streaming experience with low latency across all devices.

Through its low-latency, high-speed 5G networks, Taiwan Mobile believes that users can instantly immerse themselves in sports events and concerts, with a premium streaming video experience.

Combining a just-in-time packaging feature with a built-in cache mechanism, the BkS350 Origin Packager reduces the need for encoding and storage resources while providing high-throughput capacity, generating important cost savings, according to Broadpeak

The Origin Packager solution packages video content in ABR formats including Apple HLS, MPEG-DASH, and CMAF.

Broadpeak says that its Origin Packager offers reliability and scalability, allowing Taiwan Mobile to future-proof live multiscreen video delivery.
