The appointment will result in an increase in the number of individuals on the Tele Columbus management board from four to five.

Busch will join Tele Columbus, which operates under the PŸUR brand, on July 1, and will join the management board at the same time.

In his role, he will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s residential customer strategy, identifying new market opportunities, and building and maintaining strong client relationships to drive revenue growth and the division’s profitability.

Busch has over 24 years of experience in the telecommunications industry as well as in banking. Before joining Tele Columbus, he held various management positions at Vodafone and Kabel Deutschland. Most recently, as Head of IoT DACH & Strategic Partnerships at Vodafone, he was responsible for the company’s IoT business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

After successfully transferring the consumer distribution business from Kabel Deutschland to Vodafone following the merger with Vodafone in 2014, he gained experience in the wholesale business as senior director at Vodafone, leading the wholesale and MVNO business of the company in Germany.

Marc van’t Noordende, chairman of the supervisory board of Tele Columbus said: “Earlier this year we announced that we are expanding the Management Board with the clear aim of bringing management closer to the business. We have achieved this by assigning responsibility for strategically important business areas to the Management Board. Today I am pleased to say that in Jochen Busch we have found a highly qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Chief Consumer Officer who completes the Tele Columbus Management Board. We are confident that the new management team has the experience, motivation and expertise to continue to effectively execute the company’s strategy and successfully lead Tele Columbus through the next phase of development.”

Busch said: “Tele Columbus aims to become one of the leading fibre optic network operators in Germany – and the residential customer business plays an important role in this. In the course of my career, I have gained a lot of experience in setting up and expanding successful product offerings and sales organizations in the telecommunications industry. I also benefited from my background as a banker: this has always enabled me to take a holistic view of the business – not just in relation to the products and sales, but also to the commercial aspects. I now look forward to bringing my experience and expertise to Tele Columbus, working closely with my colleagues to further accelerate the company’s growth strategy.”
