BBC Studios teams up with Play Now to expand reach of BBC Player in Poland

BBC Studios is expanding the reach of its BBC Player streamer in Poland after striking a deal with local operator Play Now.

The agreement allows subscribers to access more than 500 hours of BBCS shows, as well as linear channels.

Programming on offer includes comedic drama Cheaters and period drama Sanditon, as well as The North Water and crime thriller Ragdoll.

The service will also offer classic British comedies ranging from Black Adder and You Rang M’Lord to ‘Allo, ‘Allo!, as well as Natural History programmes from Sir David Attenborough such as Attenborough & the Giant Dinosaur.

Documentaries will also be available, including Putin vs. The WestLeaving Afghanistan and This World: Hong Kong’s Fight For Freedom, along with kids shows such as Bluey.

The deal, which plays into BBCS’s strategy to expand its global streaming operations, is the second in Poland for BBC Player, following its debut in the country in June 2022.

An earlier version of this story referred in error to BBC Player launching in Poland with Canal+, which occurred last year.
