UAE’s Evision launches dedicated golf channel for MENA region

E-Vision, the media and entertainment arm of UAE-based e& (formerly Etisalat), has launched a new golf channel in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The launch follows the acquisition of exclusive MENA rights to the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour (2023/24), the 2023 Ryder Cup and the 2024 Presidents Cup.

Called GolfLife, the dedicated channel will be available in the UAE on eLife TV and Switch TV, both e& platforms. Across the MENA region, the new service will be on Starzplay Arabia – a popular streaming service part-owned by e&.

Evision CEO Olivier Bramly said: “Golf is experiencing a boom in popularity across MENA, and the GolfLife channel will give fans unparalleled access to the sport they love via eLife, Switch TV, and Starzplay packages. The channel will also be available to other operators across the region to ensure we reach as many fans as possible.”

Rick Anderson, chief media officer of the PGA Tour, added: “The PGA Tour is excited to partner with evision and reach fans in the MENA region on eLife, Switch TV, and Starzplay. Fans can expect an exciting year as the PGA Tour moves towards a calendar-year schedule that features top players competing more often and heightened importance on positioning for the Race for the FedExCup.”

Evision wants the channel to become a key destination for showcasing golf activities across the region. Its decision to invest in the sport comes at a time when Saudi Arabia is also seeking to establish a beach-head in golf via its LIV Tour.
