Orange Sport Romania adds portfolio of top soccer rights

Romanian PayTV service Orange Sport has announced that it is adding a raft of premium soccer rights to its service. Already up and running since late December, the company has been airing live Premier League fixtures. As of this month, it is also adding fixtures from Ligue 1 in France and Bundesliga in Germany.

Orange Sport said that the new content has been added “out of the desire to offer the best football in the world to fans”. Already available on the platform are franchises including UEFA Champions League, La Liga, Serie A, Formula 1 and NBA.

According to Orange Sport, its new content is available to subscribers “through the channels Orange Sport 1, 2, 3, 4, as well as its website and social media outlets”.

Formerly knowns as Dolce Sport and Telekom Sport, the Orange Sport service is controlled by French telco giant Orange, a leading mobile operator in the country. Orange secured control of the service in 2021 when it acquired a majority stake in Telekom Romania Communications (TKR) from leading Greek telco OTE. That purchase was designed to transform Orange Romania into a converged offering.
