Poland’s Kanał Sportowy taps Redge Technologies for OTT launch

Polish YouTube channel Kanał Sportowy has launched its own OTT offering using technology outfit Redge Technologies’ end-to-end video streaming solution.

Kanał Sportowy is the one of the most-subscribed online sport-oriented community channels in Poland, with over 900,000 subscribers and almost 600 million video views.

The service combines sport journalism with lifestyle content, wilth shows created by Mateusz Borek, Michał Pol, Tomasz Smokowski and Krzysztof Stanowski.

The outfit has tapped Redge Media to bring advanced monetiisation models and live social features to its offering.

The deployment has been based on Redge Media for Lifestyle, a video streaming solution tailored to video influencers looking for a simple way to create a fully customizable, manageable video service for their community, according to Redge Media.

The solution supports video delivery, security and business functions, enabling monetization either as transactional, PPV or AVOD, and also offers social media tools and interactive features. operates on the Redge Media platform as a multiscreen application, with distribution including connected TVs. will operate in parallel with the YouTube channel. All content is also available via the Kanał Sportowy mobile app, downloadable on Google Play and the App Store.

Future developments include an app for Smart TV. TVP, the Polish national broadcaster, has been contracted for media planning, while Arskom Sport Brokers agency, specialists in sports marketing in the Polish market, supports product strategy and development.

YouTube remains our strategic channel for delivering content. Nevertheless, our own platform will be provided with exclusive content, video formats not available anywhere else and, when we obtain certain rights, also will be the place for live broadcast of sporting events,” said Maciej Sawicki, Kanał Sportowy’s CEO.
