Ad-supported streaming technology provider MuxIP has named Frank Brown as managing director, international, and FASTHub Lead for Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Based in Sydney, Australia, Brown will be tasked to drive engagements with broadcasters and producers in the regions for FASTHub, MuxIP’s cloud-based software as a service offering that encodes, packages, and distributes channels – including broadcast, satellite, and digital – to OTT platforms, TV devices, or applications.

FASTHub converts broadcast streams to digital to enable the creation of Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels at lower costs than alternative solutions, according to the company.
Previously, Brown was Asia-Pacific lead and global advisor for Alchimie, the publicly-traded OTT video-on-demand channel aggregator.

He has also served as chairman, i-Pop Networks Asia and president and CEO for Viacom/MTV Networks International, Asia Pacific. He served as a board member for Nickelodeon in Australia during his tenure for Viacom/MTV Networks.

He is also the founder of Generator Media Ventures, which provides services to APAC businesses and government entities.

“The television landscape has shifted to FAST channels, and I have never seen anything like what FASTHub represents for the industry. I am privileged to work with this innovative company that is spearheading a seismic change for producers and distributors of video content,” said Brown
“We are honoured to have one of the leading figures in global television distribution join MuxIP at this strategic inflection point for the industry,” said Tom Link, founder and CEO of MuxIP.

“The roll-out of FASTHub is delivering rapid engagements with a wide range of channel creators, and Frank will help accelerate the adoption of our leading-edge platform for FAST channels.”
