Amazon Freevee comes to Android in the UK

Amazon’s Freevee streaming service (FKA IMDb TV) has expanded its UK distribution with the launch of an app for Android devices.

The app is available today on Google TV on Android TV OS devices in the UK, with further availability on Android mobile devices in the coming weeks.

The Amazon Freevee app will launch across Google TV and other Android TV OS devices including Sony, Panasonic, Hisense, Phillips, Sharp, Vestel, Nvidia, Xiaomi, TCL and others.

The app is already available on Fire TV and Fire Tablets, and it is accessible within the Prime Video app on hundreds of devices through the ‘Amazon Freevee – Popular Movies and TV – Free with Ads’ carousel.

The Android launch comes ahead of the release of Amazon Freevee’s first original movie, Love Accidentally, which will debut on July 15. Other highlighted tittes currently available on Freevee includes Les Misérables, The Voices and The Closer.
