The apps, which are now live, enable Bulgarian subscribers to the group’s Xplore TV offering to view the service on Samsung Tizen and LG webOS connected TVs.
According to 3SS, the A1 Bulgaria launch is the first market to go live in a five-territory project awarded to the company following a competitive RFP. 3SS-engineered localized smart TV apps will subsequently be deployed in Austria, Croatia, Slovenia and Macedonia.
The apps are powered by 3SS’ 3READY framework and provide live TV, catchup, a TV Guide and mini EPG, timeshifting, live startover and cross-device continue-watching features.
3SS said it was carrying out app development and delivery for all five territories using a single codebase with per-market customizations, including adaptations needed to accommodate several languages and both Cyrillic and Latin alphabets.
“We’re extremely proud to have been selected by A1 Telekom Austria Group to deliver this major multi-country project. With the launch of the first 3READY-enabled Xplore TV apps, consumers in Bulgaria can now benefit from a world-class smart TV UX. We look forward to bringing the same exceptional experience to subscribers across other A1 markets,” said Kai-Christian Borchers, Managing Director of 3SS.
