Eleven Sports selects Blackbird for online editing and publishing

Cloud video editing platform provider Blackbirdhas been chosen by Eleven Sports for the rapid editing and publishing of sports content to fans online. The AIM-traded firm said Eleven Sports will integrate Blackbird into its video infrastructure, and use it to clip, edit and publish content its social/OTT channels in Belgium and Portugal.

Eleven holds rights to a wide range of sports properties in a number of territories, including UEFA Champions League, Premier League, La Liga, NBA, NFL, UFC and F1. Stevie Rowe, head of production at Eleven Sports, said: “We want to give our fans access to the best sporting moments as quickly as possible and Blackbird will play a big role in helping us do that. They have a great product.”

Ian McDonough, Blackbird CEO, added: “Eleven has selected Blackbird for its unparalleled speed to air, high quality output and easy scalability. We look forward to expanding with them as they grow.” Blackbird has an initial two-year contract. Its previous experience in the sports sector includes a partnership with IMG and the R&A on the delivery of rapid, engaging content at The 148th Open Championship.
